At Balboa Park today, I observed a less financially fortunate elder trying to sell little handmade toys and asked for donation. There were two young girls were curious of old lady and the toys. They stopped to wonder and probably to make connections in order to make sense of seeing the less fortunate older person. I suspect that financially the girls’ family are more fortunate than that of the older woman. The girls seemed like they wanted to understand and make a connection with the older woman but they kept the safe distance. I only observed from afar to know for sure of the situation. It would be interesting of knowing the views of both from the older woman and from the young girls.
